Partner With AirTech

Add HVAC-Integrated UVC to the Solutions You Can Offer Your Customers

AirTechnologies NZ works alongside HVAC contractors throughout New Zealand, providing specialist 254nm UVC technology, technical support and product selection for suitable HVAC and air-handling applications.

We don't replace HVAC contractors — we work alongside them.

Our aim is to give your team another technical solution to consider when customers are experiencing recurring microbial growth, biofilm, coil contamination, moisture-related issues, odour, indoor air quality concerns or difficult-to-maintain HVAC equipment.

Whether you're servicing an existing system, quoting an upgrade or designing a new installation, AirTech can help assess whether UVC is appropriate and recommend a solution for the application.

CREATING HEALTHIER ENVIRONMENTS

Another Tool in Your HVAC Toolkit

HVAC contractors are often the first to identify what's happening inside a building's mechanical systems.

You see the coils.

You see the drain pans.

You see the systems requiring repeated cleaning.

And you see when the same problems keep coming back.

In suitable applications, HVAC-integrated UVC can provide an additional layer of continuous microbial control within the system, complementing normal filtration, ventilation, cleaning and preventative maintenance.

Rather than relying solely on periodic cleaning, UVC can be positioned to continuously irradiate areas such as cooling coils, drain pans and other suitable internal surfaces where moisture and biological build-up can occur.

When Could UVC Be Worth Considering?

Talk to AirTech when you come across:

  • Recurring microbial growth or biofilm

  • Mould or biological build-up around cooling coils

  • Wet coils and drain pans

  • Musty or recurring HVAC odours

  • Coils requiring frequent cleaning

  • Difficult-to-access internal HVAC components

  • Indoor air quality concerns

  • Healthcare or clinical environments

  • Food manufacturing and processing facilities

  • Laboratories and controlled environments

  • Schools and early childhood centres

  • Gyms and high-occupancy buildings

  • Commercial properties looking to improve HVAC hygiene

  • Clients investigating HVAC performance or lifecycle improvements

  • New HVAC installations where UVC could be incorporated during design

Not every HVAC system needs UVC, and not every system is suitable.

That's where we can help.

We Work Alongside You — Not in Competition With You

Your HVAC customer stays your HVAC customer.

AirTech specialises in UVC technology. We are not looking to replace your existing service, maintenance, refrigeration or mechanical relationships.

Instead, we can provide specialist UVC knowledge when you identify an application where the technology may add value.

That might mean simply helping you select the right product, reviewing photos and system information, assisting with system sizing, attending site with your team or developing a custom UVC solution for a larger application.

You retain the customer relationship while gaining access to specialist UVC support when you need it.

1. Identify an Opportunity

Your technicians identify a system or customer where UVC may be worth considering.

This could be recurring coil contamination, biofilm, moisture, odour, frequent cleaning, IAQ concerns or simply an opportunity to incorporate UVC into a new HVAC installation.

4. Installation

Depending on the project, the system can be installed by your suitably qualified team, or AirTech can work alongside you to assist with installation and commissioning.

Our goal is to make incorporating UVC into your existing HVAC offering as straightforward as possible.

2. Send Us the System Information

Depending on the application, we may ask for:

  • HVAC make and model

  • System type

  • Airflow

  • Coil dimensions

  • Photos of the equipment and available installation area

  • Drawings or mechanical plans where available

  • Operating conditions

  • Details of the problem you're trying to address

For smaller systems, product selection may be relatively straightforward.

Larger AHUs and commercial applications may require a more detailed assessment.

5. Ongoing Support

We're available for technical questions, replacement lamps, maintenance guidance, future projects and additional system assessments.

When another suitable application comes up, give us a call.

3. AirTech Helps Select the Solution

We'll review the application and help determine whether UVC is appropriate.

Where suitable, we'll recommend the UVC configuration based on factors such as system geometry, airflow, installation position, operating conditions and the intended treatment objective.

For larger or more complex applications, we can also assist with site assessment and custom system design.

From Heat Pumps to Large AHUs

AirTech supplies UVC solutions for a wide range of HVAC applications.

Depending on system design and suitability, UVC can be integrated within:

Heat Pumps & Split Systems

Compact UVC solutions for suitable high-wall, split and ducted systems.

Fan Coil Units

UVC positioned to provide ongoing treatment of suitable coils and internal surfaces.

Commercial HVAC Systems

Solutions for larger ducted systems and commercial mechanical equipment.

Air Handling Units

UVC configurations designed around coil geometry, airflow, available installation space and treatment objectives.

Cooling Coils & Drain Pans

Continuous irradiation of moisture-prone surfaces where microbial growth and biofilm can develop.

Duct & Airstream Applications

Where appropriate, UVC systems can also be designed for treatment of microorganisms within the moving airstream.

Custom Applications

For equipment that doesn't fit a standard product, AirTech can assess the application and develop a project-specific UVC configuration.

Why Add UVC to Your Offering?

Solve Recurring Problems

When cleaning addresses the immediate contamination but microbial growth repeatedly returns, UVC may provide an additional preventative strategy.

Support Cleaner HVAC Equipment

Continuous UVC exposure can help control susceptible microorganisms on irradiated HVAC surfaces and reduce biological build-up in suitable applications.

Provide Another IAQ Solution

UVC complements ventilation, filtration, cleaning and other established HVAC controls rather than replacing them.

Support HVAC Performance

Keeping heat-transfer surfaces cleaner may help maintain HVAC performance where biological fouling would otherwise affect coil condition and heat transfer.

Differentiate Your Business

Offering access to specialist UVC technology gives your team another solution to discuss with customers looking at HVAC hygiene, indoor air quality and building performance.

Create Additional Project Opportunities

UVC can be considered during servicing, HVAC upgrades, refurbishments and new installations, giving your team another potential value-add for existing customers.

UVC Complements Good HVAC — It Doesn't Replace It

AirTech doesn't position UVC as a replacement for good HVAC design or maintenance.

Effective indoor environmental management may include a combination of:

Ventilation
Bringing appropriate outdoor air into the building.

Filtration
Capturing particles from the moving airstream.

Cleaning & Maintenance
Maintaining equipment and removing accumulated contamination.

UVC
Providing continuous microbial treatment at suitable locations within the HVAC system.

The right solution depends on the building, HVAC configuration and problem being addressed.

UVC is another tool — not the entire toolbox.

Technical Support When You Need It

You don't need to become a UVC specialist to offer UVC to your customers.

That's our job.

AirTech can assist with:

  • Product selection

  • System sizing

  • Application assessment

  • Technical product information

  • Installation guidance

  • HVAC integration support

  • Site assessments

  • Custom UVC configurations

  • Commercial project support

  • Technical documentation

  • Installation and commissioning support

  • Replacement products and ongoing support

For larger projects, we're happy to work directly with your engineers, project managers or technicians to determine an appropriate solution.

Already Have a Potential Application?

Send it through.

For an initial assessment, photos of the HVAC equipment along with the make/model, airflow and coil dimensions where available are often enough for us to start looking at the application.

If it's a larger or more complex system, we can arrange a site visit or work through the system with your team.

Let's Work Together

AirTechnologies NZ is proudly New Zealand owned and operated, with experience across HVAC and electrical industries and support available for projects throughout New Zealand.

If your team comes across recurring HVAC contamination, biofilm, wet coils, difficult cleaning, IAQ concerns or another application where UVC might be worth exploring, we'd be happy to take a look.

One system, one problem or one pilot is often the best place to start.
