AT500-1
SIMPLE - POWERFUL - RELIABLE
Advanced air purification for commercial kitchens. Reduces grease build-up, neutralises cooking odours, and improves re safety—all while being energy-efficient and low maintenance.
The Kitchen Challenge
Why Kitchen Extraction Needs Protection
Grease & cooking vapours
When food is fried, roasted,or grilled, fats and oils evaporate into the air. These vapours condense inside extraction ducts, creating sticky grease deposits.
Odours
Cooking also produces odorous organic compounds (like aldehydes, ketones, and volatile fatty acids).
How UV Ozone Works
Transforming Kitchen Extraction
UV Ozone (often called UV Ozone or Photolytic Oxidation) uses ultraviolet light at specific wavelengths to generate ozone and reactive radicals. These highly reactive species radicals. These highly reactive species break down grease and odour molecules.
Ozone Generation - UVC Light (185nm wavelength)
Splits oxygen molecules into atoms, which recombine to form ozone.
Photolysis Process - UVC Light (254nm wavelength)
Breaks down organic molecules directly (photolysis) and also helps ozone reactions along
Clean Ducts, Lower Fire
Risk
The ozone and UV radiation attack long-chain hydrocarbons (the main constituents of fats/oils). This breaks them into smaller, less sticky compounds such as water, carbon dioxide, and light organics.
As a result, less grease condenses inside the ductwork ,meaning cleaner systems and reduced fire risk.
Odour Control
Neutralising Cooking Smells
Odorous compounds (like sulfur compounds, aldehydes, etc.) are oxidised by ozone and free radicals (such as hydroxyl radicals formed in the process). These reactions neutralise or convert smelly molecules into non-odorous byproducts (mainly CO₂ and H₂O). The process is continuous, treating the airflow as it passes through.
Photolytic Oxidation
The combination of direct UV-C radiation and ozone creation generates high- energy hydroxyl radicals (•OH). These radicals react instantly with organic molecules, breaking carbon-carbon double bonds and eliminating complex food prep odours before exhaust release.
